3ptTask: A System for Focus, Progress, and Clarity

Creation: The Origin of Simplicity

Life is noisy. Tasks pile up, distractions multiply, and suddenly, you’re juggling too much without ever moving forward. Productivity tools promise the moon, but most leave you more overwhelmed than when you started.
That’s why I created 3ptTask. It’s not about optimizing every second of the day or drowning in complexity. It’s about creating space—space to focus, to grow, and to track progress that truly matters.

Expression: The Daily Practice of the 3ptTask

The core idea: Each day has a story. Your tasks are the chapters. The Daily Top 3 ensures you write that story with intention, capturing progress, success, and focus.
Here’s how it works:
  1. Capture Everything:
    1. Start with one inbox—a single place where every task, idea, or reminder goes. No organizing, no filtering—just capture the noise.
  1. The 2-Minute Rule:
    1. If something takes less than 2 minutes, do it now. Don’t let minor tasks clutter your list.
  1. Choose Your Top 3:
    1. Each morning, scan your inbox and choose the three tasks that matter most for the day. These could be:
      • Impactful actions that align with long-term goals.
      • Urgent items demanding attention.
      • Personal tasks that keep you grounded. Date night? A BIG Game? New Series? #Rest
  1. Break It Down:
    1. If a task feels overwhelming, simplify it into smaller, actionable steps that can be tackled in under an hour.
  1. Consistency Over Perfection:
    1. The goal isn’t to finish everything—it’s to show up every day. Pick your Top 3, focus on them, and let the rest wait.
  1. End-of-Day Reset:
    1. Before bed, reflect on what you accomplished, clear your list of irrelevant items, and leave the rest ready for tomorrow.

Connection: Beyond the Day, Toward the Big Picture

3ptTask isn’t just a daily system—it’s a bridge to your long-term vision.

1. Weekly Trends

Spend 15–30 minutes each week spotting patterns:
  • Are your results aligned with your current feelings?
  • Are you consistently overwhelmed or under-focused?
This is where you recalibrate. Adjust your Top 3 to better reflect your goals and priorities. There is no right way, no final perfect system, it is all evolution to who you are now and who you are becoming.

2. Monthly or Quarterly Goals

Big dreams need milestones. Break long-term goals into smaller steps and let them guide your daily focus.

3. Off Days and Realignment

Some days, nothing feels right. That’s okay. Use off days to rest, reflect, or focus on smaller, grounding tasks. Growth isn’t linear, and neither is life.

What If…?

  • You finish early?
    • Use the extra time for secondary tasks, plan ahead, or recharge.
  • You don’t finish?
    • Carry it over. Unfinished tasks aren’t failures—they’re insights into what matters most.
  • Someone needs something urgently?
    • Pause and reassess. If the urgency aligns with your values or priorities, let it replace one of your Top 3.
  • You have more than 3 things?
    • Focus on the Top 3 first. Other tasks can be tackled afterward but don’t let them dilute your energy.

Task Execution

  • Tackle your Top 3 with focus, using timeboxing or Pomodoro sessions.
  • Batch smaller tasks like emails or quick admin items.

Evening Reset

  • Reflect on wins and lessons from the day.
  • Reorganize your list for a fresh start tomorrow.

Weekly and Monthly Reviews

  • Use analytics or journaling to spot trends.
  • Align daily actions with long-term goals.

Why 3ptTask Works

The beauty of 3ptTask lies in its simplicity. It’s not about filling every moment but about creating meaningful progress each day.
  • Daily Focus: Keeps you grounded and productive without overwhelm.
  • Big-Picture Alignment: Ensures your actions reflect your long-term goals.
  • Built-In Flexibility: Adapts to off days, urgent needs, and shifting priorities.
Each day, you write a story. Each week, you spot patterns in the narrative. And over time, you craft a life that reflects your deepest values.

Your 3ptTask Challenge

Try it for one week.
  • Start each day by choosing your Top 3.
  • End each day with a reset.
  • Reflect at the end of the week—what worked, what didn’t, and what surprised you?
Share your journey publicly, track your progress, and inspire others to focus on what truly matters.

3ptTask: It’s not just a system—it’s a story you live, one intentional day at a time.
